HERE FOR THE LONG HAUL

Guardian Angel Alumni are former safety patrol members who no longer walk the beat, but who retain an interest in the various programs, and are on hand to assist younger members as well as to provide encouragement to all Guardian Angels.

Some alumni traveled to assist in other cities - helping to open up new chapters and assisting existing chapters. They have held tributes to fallen Angels, and they mentor new Guardian Angels. The alumni do not limit themselves to just assisting the programs from within. You will see them marching alongside active Guardian Angels in parades honoring Veteran's Day, at ethnic pride festivals, and working at toy drives and food drives as well.

The Alumni have attended galas in New York and Washington, DC. They attended the 20th Anniversary celebration, which was held at the Central Park Boathouse in New York City; and then the 21st Anniversary that was held at the Republican Ladies Club. When you find them at these events, you will find that they are happy to share stories about the early days in Guardian Angels - the difficulties and joys of being on the front line of a daring and innovative concept.

The Alumni may not be patrolling the streets anymore, but they live by the same code of honor they grew into manhood with. They haven't stopped giving to their communities, they haven't stopped believing that each person can make a difference, and they haven't stopped daring to care.
